Decanter Centrifuge is the final-stage fine solid separation equipment in oil & gas drilling solids control systems, used to remove 2–7 μm fine solids and recover barite, reducing mud density and maintaining drilling fluid performance.
The Function of decanter centrifuge:
The 5th and last phase of solids control (after shale shaker, desander, desilter, mud cleaner).
Separates fine solid particles (2–7 μm) from drilling fluid; recovers valuable barite; lowers mud density; reduces waste discharge.
The working principle of the decantercentrifuge:
It uses high centrifugal force (G=800–2,100 ) for continuous solid-liquid separation.Drilling mud enters the rotating drum through the feed pipe.High-speed rotation (1,500–3,500 RPM) generates strong centrifugal force. Denser solids settle to the drum wall, lighter liquid forms an inner layer.

Main components of the decanter centrifuge:
The high-speed rotating drum,Spiral Conveyor,Differential Gearbox,Motors,auxiliary motor,Frame & Casing.
The advantages of decanter centrifuges in solid control:
Fine Solids Removal: Eliminates 2–7 μm particles that damage mud properties and equipment.
Barite Recovery: Recycles valuable weighting material, reducing costs.
Density Control: Lowers mud density by removing low-specific-gravity fine solids.
Waste Reduction: Minimizes drilling waste discharge, meeting environmental regulations.Continuous Operation: processing with high efficiency.
